Interested in keeping your Chrysler repair costs down? Purchasing an extended warranty is a way to offset expensive repair bills once your factory warranty expires.
CARCHEX protects your vehicle and bank account with our flexible protection plans. Read on to learn more about a Chrysler extended warranty and your options for coverage.
Extended warranties are vehicle protection plans that begin after your factory warranty ends. Chrysler provides these warranties through Mopar®, which is the parts, customer care, and service business inside of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). These warranties are available for all FCA brands—Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Fiat, and Alfa Romeo. This is noted as FCA US LLC in your warranty.
When you purchase a new Chrysler from the dealership, you also drive away with a manufacturer warranty. Here’s what covered in your Chrysler factory warranty:
|3-Year/36,000-Mile Chrysler Basic Limited Warranty||
|5-year/60,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty||
|Roadside Assistance Services||
|Mopar Parts and Accessories Limited Warranty||
|Anti-Corrosion Perforation Limited Warranty||
|Federal Emissions Warranty||
|High Voltage Battery Limited Warranty||
In addition, you can choose to purchase a Mopar extended warranty, or Mopar Vehicle Protection® plans, as additional coverage for new vehicles.
FCA’s highest level of extended coverage, Maximum Care, protects more than 5,000 components beyond your warranty. In previous years, you could select a warranty period of either eight years/150,000 miles. The Chrysler Lifetime Maximum Care warranty option ended in late 2018. This affected the Dodge extended warranty, Chrysler Pacifica extended warranty, Ram extended warranty, and more.
If your vehicle is also covered with the 5-year/60,000-mile or longer Powertrain Limited Vehicle Warranty, you are eligible within three years from the vehicle’s original in-service date and 36,000 miles. That means you need to decide whether to purchase the plan while your Chrysler is still under its bumper-to-bumper warranty.
This plan extends your coverage on more than 800 powertrain and major components with factory-backed protection. Chrysler vehicle owners choose the terms: either five or eight years and mile options ranging between 60,000 and 125,000 miles. You can also pick your deductible, based on the plan you select.
Eligibility for Mopar’s Added Care Plus plan is the same as the Maximum Care plan.
